"Why didn’t you-"
"Stop it right there, Owen, I swear to God." Gwen closed her eyes as she held up her hand, effectively balling it up into a fist. Owen narrowed his eyes at her, deciding whether or not to argue further.
"No, but, listen, why didn’t you?" The sharp look that Gwen gave him should have been enough to make him back down, but it didn’t. Owen merely raised a brow and waited for an explanation.
"Because— because it would have broken his heart, that’s why, now shut it." Gwen lowered her hand and set her lips into a tight, thin line. She was lying, to save face.
"That’s not a very good answer." Owen started, ready to go a row with her.
"It’s the only one you’re getting." She shot back, her temper flaring.
"I could always tell ‘im." Owen started, but Gwen cut him off.
"You are not telling Jack bloody Harkness a thing, you got that?” Stepping closer towards him, Gwen stuck her index finger into his face.
"Afraid he’d get jealous?" Owen questioned, more amused than anything.
"No more afraid he’d—" But before she could go on, Jack entered the room and the two quickly separated.
